Here's a couple of new things to look forward to this year. I recently did some freelance designs for a new show at Cartoon Network called Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, which should be airing July 18, 2011 [Update: I guess this date has now been pushed back to sometime in the fall]. You might recognize the style from a previous Peter Browngardt short called Uncle Grandpa. I think the show looks really great and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Secondly, I was able to storyboard a couple of episodes of Regular Show with my good friend Andres Salaff (shown below). The first episode of ours Death Metal Crash Pit will appear sometime in October (i'll get back with the official date later). I know it won't be for a while, but still, if you mark your calendars I will be your friend for ever.

No your eyes aren't deceiving you. I know last time I said I wanted to do a Regular Show post of all the rejected character designs, but somehow this came first. For Xmas, unbeknownst to me, my brother really really wanted a Regular Show toilet seat!? So I did my best to make him feel as though there was no way it could possibly happen, and then did my best to make it for him.

Awesome Birthday Cake

My Dad's 50th birthday was coming up and my wonderful friend Lindsay Johnson invited my brother and I out to her shop, Something Sweet Bakery, to help build his cake. She basically creates masterpieces out of frosting and cake batter! It's amazing! But she knew the Adams Bros were both artists and wanted to see what we could do. So after a couple of "adult- beverages" and A LOT of help from Lindsay, this is what we were able to come up with.

I'm getting a kick out of these, I'm starting to see some of the crazy crowd shots I worked on in Flapjack. I'm convinced the author of "Where's Waldo", Martin Handford, probably did a few of these in his day before he made millions of dollar bills creating those books.

The day I thought I was a genius was the same day I inadvertently invented glow in the dark bubbles. I thought to myself, "this has to be same way the person who invented chocolate-covered pretzels felt when they created that product -- 'chocolate... pretzel... GENIUS I SAY!" It's so stupid it's smart! But I digress. With a crude mixture of soap, water and glow stick juice I was sure to have the next million dollar idea. After a few failed attempts I finally got it right. Glowing bubbles. Of course, much like most of my "genius" ideas, they seem spectacular and grand at first....... but when they pop, they end up leaving long-lasting, glowing, stains on the carpet. [picture not found] If any of you out there happen to be chemical engineers, and can some how make it to where the glowing dessipates after popage, then we should definitely partner up. We would be despised by scientists, but loved by, most importantly, RAVERS! oonce! oonce! oonce! ooonce! ooonce! ooonce....

The winter olympics has just reminded me of a time in my childhood where we would pay "Antena-ball Olympics". The object of the game was to see how many antena balls you could gnab off of people's cars in under a minute. Each ball was worth one point -- but if you managed to grab one off of a moving vehicle, then you automatically won!

Pork Rinds are unarguably the best snack food on the face of the planet. I can't stress this enough people. Ever wonder how much that hot pocket is affecting your square dance routine? Although this is an overgeneralized/ hypothetical situation, I never really stopped to think about how much the small things in life actually affected me. I just got done taking a summer school class for nutrition, and it has completely changed the way I eat and think about food. Little did I know that there is a lot more than just cramming my air hole with any god-for-saken thing that takes the pain away from my stomach. You'd be suprised if you visited www.mypyramid.gov how much and what kind of foods you should be consuming. I'll spare you the lecture, but would highly advise you to educate yourself in this misunderstood and underated practices of nourishment. With that, I leave you with one of my public service announcement flyers, a.k.a. my final project for the class.

I’m a Mama’s Boy!!!

Never thought I’d say it—but it’s true, I’m a mama’s boy! And I don’t mean figuratively, but literally. Some of you out there might be familiar with a little organization known as csssa. It’s a summer function for high schoolers, specializing in certain areas of “the arts”; held at, none other than, Cal Arts! Well, any you who are familiar with this special event may remember a little place called Mom’s Café. It’s a comfortable lounge area sandwiched between the infamous chainard hall and the aquatic center. Mom’s is best known for its social environment, games, music, and most importantly—it’s employees!

I have had the pleasure of working with some of my best friends Mr. Sean Taylor and Doc Wat. But moderating pool sticks and slingin candy to these little rag-muffins isn’t the only thing I’ve been graced with the satisfaction of doing. I’ve also taken the opportunity of successfully exploiting the talents of character “Pancho the Offended Owl”, dubbed by Cole Sanchez, and have triumphantly turned him into the official Mom’s Café mascot.

When I wasn’t being an agent for this, how shall I say, sensitive owl, I got to design the white board and Mom’s propaganda.

In retrospect, it has been a fun experience being able to work, reminisce, and see a glimpse of the next generation of artists.

Check these out motha licka's! Every morning I've been warming up my hand by drawing at least one characture a day. This usually consists of people from magazines and day time television. Some are good, some are bad--mostly just bad though. Probably becuase I haven't had my daily fix of coffee yet, and strawberry filled toaster scrudel. Real artist eat toaster scrudels. Some might tell you otherwise... but I know from reliable sources, that they are liars!
